A history built together as a community

Grantfield is the sports complex of the Asociación Civil Churchill de Rosario, home to the school’s Sports Campus as well as Old Resian Club, the institution’s alumni club.

Historical overview

On May 5, 1942, a group of students and alumni from the Rosario English School founded Old Resian Club with a clear purpose: to preserve the spirit of friendship, camaraderie, and belonging born within the school community.

Inspired by the school’s then Headmaster, Wilfred Goodes, those present shared the vision of creating a space that would carry beyond the classroom the values and bonds formed during their education.

A few years later, in 1948, Alejandro Grant donated a property on Boulevard Wilde for the development of a sports campus for students and alumni. Over time, that space evolved into Grantfield, now a symbol of the club’s growth and identity.

From the first changing rooms built in 1968 to the many expansions that followed, the campus continued to grow thanks to the joint efforts of the club, the school, and the Fundación Churchill.

New sports facilities, an indoor gymnasium, a synthetic hockey field, social spaces, and educational areas helped consolidate a project designed for future generations.

Today, Grantfield represents far more than a sports complex — it is a place for connection, personal growth, and community.

The history of the school and the club is also deeply connected to the development of sports in Rosario. Figures associated with the Rosario English School played an active role in the early history of iconic institutions such as Newell’s Old Boys and Rosario Central, leaving a lasting mark on the city’s sporting identity.

More than eight decades later, Old Resian Club continues to strengthen a tradition built on sports, friendship, and a strong sense of belonging.
